Size and Measurement Guide

At Aisha Fashion World, we specialise in custom-made bridal gowns, alongside carefully selected occasion and modestwear. As every design has its own cut and fit, sizing may vary between styles. For custom-made gowns, we work with your individual measurements to create the best possible fit. For ready-to-wear pieces, please check the size shown on each product page and use this guide to compare UK and EU/TR sizing.

Made-to-Order & Custom Gowns: For bespoke and made-to-order pieces, your exact measurements are taken at the point of order. Please scroll to the How to Measure section below — your bust, waist, hips and hollow-to-hem are the four key measurements our team will request.

Extended Sizes (UK 20–28): We believe every bride deserves a beautiful, confident fit. Selected ready-to-wear styles are available in extended sizes, while our custom-made bridal gowns can be created to your individual measurements. For ready-to-wear pieces, please refer to the measurements provided for each style to find your best fit.

Length Guide — Hollow to Hem

Hollow-to-hem is an important measurement for achieving the correct gown length. It is taken from the hollow at the base of the throat down to the floor while standing naturally.

For custom-made bridal gowns, we do not determine gown length from height alone. Each bride's hollow-to-hem measurement is taken individually to ensure the gown is created to her proportions and chosen bridal look.

Please take this measurement while wearing the same heel height you intend to wear on your wedding day. If your gown will be worn with a petticoat, hoop or other structured underskirt, please let our bridal team know, as this may affect the finished length.

For ready-to-wear gowns, alterations may be required to achieve your preferred finished length.

Height Hollow to Hem (flat) Hollow to Hem (with 3" / 7.5 cm heel)
5'2" / 157 cm 138 cm 146 cm
5'4" / 163 cm 143 cm 152 cm
5'6" / 168 cm 149 cm 157 cm
5'7" / 170 cm (standard) 152 cm 160 cm
5'9" / 175 cm 157 cm 165 cm
5'11" / 180 cm 163 cm 170 cm

How to Measure Yourself

Use a soft fabric measuring tape. Measure over your underwear (or the shapewear you plan to wear under your gown). Keep the tape snug but not tight — you should be able to fit one finger underneath.

  1. Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Do not compress the bust.
  2. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso, usually an inch or two above your navel.
  3. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, approximately 20–23 cm below your natural waist.
  4. Hollow to Hem:Stand upright in your intended wedding shoes. Have another person measure from the hollow at the base of your throat straight down to the floor. Do not bend or look down while the measurement is being taken.
  5. Height: Stand without shoes against a wall and measure from floor to the top of your head.
Tip: If your bust and hips fall in different size brackets, select the larger size and have the waist taken in by a seamstress or our atelier team. This is a very common alteration for bridal gowns.

Custom & Made-to-Order Measurements
